The Improved Cooking Stove (ICS) is designed to reduce smoke emissions and make energy use more efficient. With the support of DANIDA ESAP, we have been working with the Ministry of Science and Technology to implement the National ISC Programme since 1999. We seek to increase the thermal efficiency of cook stoves, which in turn will help to reduce fuel wood consumption, reduce the workloads of women and children, reduce indoor pollution and smoke-related health disorders, reduce the risk of fire, and reduce cooking time.
